LeadHERtrades

IS A 5 MONTH MENTORSHIP PROGRAM FOR WOMEN IN THE CONSTRUCTION TRADES.

This mentorship program is comprised of monthly virtual one-on-one meetings between Matches, as well as a monthly virtual session covering a carefully selected list of topics. These sessions will be facilitated by women who are experts in their fields, participating as LeadHERHosts.

  • The Participants

    • Hosts will bring their expertise, knowledge, and the skills which have guided them through their incredibly accomplished lives.
    • Mentors will bring their lifetime of experience, both the challenges and victories.
    • Mentees are women who are starting a career in the trades industry who seek professional and personal development and growth 
    • Mentees will take a monumental step forward in their personal lives with the support of women who have walked the path before them.
  • The Structure


    • Each Match will meet on a regular predetermined schedule, and following the course content, will have a monthly topic provided for discussion. 
    • Webinar presentations will be offered monthly, based on course content. As well, there will be additional resources provided for more in-depth learning and discussion.
    • There are additional Workshops, covering industry-specific in-depth learning and discussion.
    • Rounding out the program are regular Connect & Conversation Meet Ups, where all participants in all the various streams are invited to join an informal Zoom call and network with each other.  This builds invaluable connections for a lifetime! 
    • The goal of the content for LeadHERtrades is to give the Mentor-Mentee Matches substantive content to encourage a fulsome discussion about important and relevant topics.
  • The Application Process

    • Mentees will be required to submit an application for a place in this program. Once accepted, she will complete a questionnaire to help us to make the best possible Match between mentee and mentor.

    • Mentors will be recruited based on their experience, passion and commitment to the benefit of mentoring and empowering entry-level professional female truck drivers. Each will complete a Mentor Profile to ensure we make the best possible match.

    • Both Mentor and Mentee will sign an understanding of engagement outlining the roles and responsibilities of each participant.

Mentorship is a great gift and the key to success. To mentor is to use one’s own life experiences to provide guidance and inspiration, and to support an individual on her journey to becoming the very best version of themselves herself.


As women in a traditionally male-dominated populated industry, it is even more challenging to find a mentor – particularly one of influence – as we are still the minority. If you are reading this, you are likely a woman who has had to overcome challenges in your career and you feel a strong desire to give back by helping others on their journey. You want to learn, grow, inspire, and be inspired. You want to be a part of the change.


To the woman reading this, you are my inspiration for driving and sponsoring LeadHerTrades. You are helping me create my story, my purpose, and providing the opportunity for me to use this platform to positively create change.
